Hat Bophut is quaint area in Koh Samui, home to many boutique and five-star hotels and guest houses. Fisherman’s Village is the beachfront setting that Bophut is most famous for and it has a pretty beach with breathtaking views over the sea to neighboring island, Koh Phangan.
There is a plethora of top quality restaurants and eateries, many of which have great views of Bophut Bay. There are also a small selection of stalls selling holiday souvenirs and a quiet one-way road system that runs along the back of the beach.
Bophut is ideal for families and people looking for a relaxing tropical paradise rather than the rowdy nightlife areas found in Chaweng and Lamai. There is a small pier in the heart of the village that is used as a meeting point for the local taxi drivers and shop owners as well as a handful of craft shops and one internet café.
Getting There & Away
The domestic airport is only a short drive away from Hat Bophut, with car rentals, taxis and songthaew (shared taxis) all available at the airport. The airport serves regular flights to Bangkok, where international connections can be found. Tourists also arrive by boat from the mainland, after getting a train or bus south from Bangkok, or from nearby islands like Koh Tao and Koh Phangan.
