Guiuan boasts a rich history in the Philippines and is not only home to the famous Church of Immaculate Conception but there are some great scenic spots of natural beauty to explore.
Guiuan is a town on Calicoan Island and sits on an untarnished coastline full of beaches, bays and coves fringed by seas perfect for swimming, snorkeling and, in some spots, surfing. The best waves can be found in October to March when the deep Pacific waters swell and roll, attracting budding surfers from miles around.
The sea provides the main income for the island as it is home to a whole host of marine life, making the local restaurants in Guiuan great for trying out local seafood dishes. Inland from the town is land covered in forest, secret caves and lagoons, and they make up the main attractions of the area.
