Located in the province of Marinduque, Gasan is a popular tourist spot, especially for Filipino families, who often come here for the weekend.
Gasan’s close proximity to Marinduque means that many people choose to visit on a daytrip rather than spending a great deal of time here. However, there is plenty of accommodation available and good restaurants to choose from for those who do decide to stay for a while.
There are a number of vibrant festivals in and around Gasan and many people time their trip so that they can take part in at least one of them. The major festivals include Araw ng Gasan, the Gasang-Gasang Festival and the Moriones Festival, where people dressed as Roman soldiers parade through the streets.
Getting There & Away
Gasan is best reached by local bus from Marinduque (20 minutes), which has its own airport. There are regular flights from Manila to Marinduque (40 minutes), as well as regular buses from Manila and Lucena City.
