Dauin lies on the southeast coast of the island of Negros, one of the Visayas. It’s a 4th class town and has several good beach resorts that appeal to both foreigners and locals.

The main reason people come to Dauin is for the excellent scuba diving as there is an abundance of coral reef and also decent muck diving opportunities. Many of the dive sites in Dauin are within marine sanctuaries, making it all the more special due to no boating and fishing. They include Luca, Mainit, Dauin, and Masaplod sanctuaries.

The muck diving opportunities are also good in Dauin, and all sorts of creatures can be spotted, such as the blue-ringed octopus, wonderpus, scorpion fish and cuttlefish. Another major attraction near Dauin is Apo Island. It has some of the best diving in the region.
