Chishui Sidonggou Valley is the most beautiful region of Guizhou Province. It is one of high waterfalls and lush vegetation and is near the town of Chishui in the northwest of the province.

Chishui Sidonggou Valley is fairly remote, yet there are three airports within reach. Sidonggou translates as ‘valley with four openings’ and its main claim to fame is its waterfalls and stark surroundings. There are gigantic ferns here, along with dense bamboo groves and many rapids. A hiking trail leads right through the valley.

People also visit this region of Guizhou for the mega Shizhangdong Falls, which lie a little farther from Chishui in the Shizhangdong Scenic Area. These falls are the second biggest in the country and are about 70m high and 70m wide. A massive amount of water comes over these falls in the rainy season and visitors can actually stand right behind them.
