Chau Doc is a municipality and district in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region. With a location close to the border with neighboring Cambodia, the town boasts a vibrant atmosphere.

The town is hardly awash with visitor attractions, certainly not in the traditional sense; however, its natural charm and rich ethnic mix (of Vietnamese, Champa and Khmer residents) make it an interesting destination for anyone seeking an unspoilt cultural experience.

Trade with Cambodia ensures the town is lively throughout daylight hours, while tourists passing between the two countries also contribute to the steady throng of activity.
