Cabucgayan is a 5th class town that sits on the bottom of Biliran Island in the Visayas. It is a pretty laid back place although is not really worth the effort all the way from Manila.

The main sights to see in and around Cabucgayan are the main beach and the many waterfalls. Almadro Beach is an enjoyable stretch of sand not far from town with a quiet, secluded feel and lots of shady trees to duck under. The views from the western end of the beach are particularly appealing.

If you are into hiking you will enjoy the countryside in Cabucgayan. The Casiawan Falls are not far inland and feature a 12-meter drop through lanky mahogany trees via a steep trail from the village road. Further on are the many tiers of the huge Kasabangan Falls. Both of these falls are best seen after the January rains.

Getting There & Away

Cabucgayan is about 30kms from Naval, the provincial capital, and over 100kms from the main city in the region, Tacloban. There is an airport here with regular flights from Manila and Cebu. Flight time from Manila Domestic Airport to Tacloban is about 90 minutes, from where buses make the 3-hour journey to Cabucgayan.
