This is a huge lake just a couple of kilometers south of town that covers an enormous area, and the area around the entrance at the northern end has been landscaped with flower gardens and pathways. Thus it is a popular place for locals to go and relax in the evening and at weekends.
The lake is used by the Fisheries Department for breeding fish, and on the far side of the lake is an aquarium that exhibits local species of fish as well as fishing equipment.
However, the most striking aspect of the place is an enormous model of a crocodile, so big that you could stand in its mouth, which is exactly what most visitros do to take a souvenir photo. Just beside the model is a small enclosure that holds several real-life, smaller crocodiles.
Getting There
If you’re feeling active, you could walk here from the town center in 20-30 minutes, but it’s quicker to hop in a tricycle or tuk-tuk, as all drivers know where the lake is.
