Located just over one kilometre from Ubud, the Botanic Garden Ubud is a beautiful display of vegetation, flowers, and other natural attractions, recently opened in 2006. The offerings here bring visitors and locals alike to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that can only be enjoyed through plants and nature.

This is definitely a trip worth taking if you find yourself in this part of Bali. The garden is situated 350 metres above sea level, and has a ravine, hillside, river, meadow, natural forest, and pretty much any type of flower and plant you can imagine seeing in one gorgeous location. Some of the most popular spots here are the Great Fountain, the Water Lily Pond, the Bamboo Grove, and the Fern Garden.

The Botanic Garden Ubud was designed in the fashion of ancient Greek and Roman gardens, and walking throughout the area is not unlike manoeuvring through a maze-like labyrinth. If you take the time to trek around the entire area, and it’s well worth trying, it is best to get here during the morning hours, as it can definitely get quite hot in the afternoon.
