For at least a decade, Chiang Mai has been North Thailand’s adventure sport capital, with activities like white-water rafting, rock climbing and bungy jumping all available as half- or one-day activities, while Chiang Rai has only offered treks lasting several days.
This new adventure park, situated just a couple of kilometers from town and shaped like a boomerang (thus the name) now offers the chance for short-term thrills rock-climbing and zip-lining, with plans for more activities in the future. It’s located at the base of a steep limestone hill, so rock-climbing opportunities are possible up easy and difficult routes.
Rates for a day’s activities range from 450B per person for a group of 10 or more to 1000B for a single person. There’s no accommodation at present, but it’s possible to camp in the park for a couple of hundred baht extra.
Getting There
Go over the Mae Fah Luang Bridge to the northwest of Chiang Rai and after 1.5km, take a left turn (signposted); you’ll find the park on your right after 2km.
