Bontoc is a mountain province on the Cordillera mountain range on the north Filipino island of Luzon. Bontoc town is a fair sized city and is the main trading center for the surrounding region.

The downtown area of Bontoc city has a bustling market place and a large selection of street stalls and food vendors. Everything from locally handmade handicrafts to secondhand clothes and jewelry is for sale.

The Bontoc Museum is a fascinating attraction with a wide array of historic artifacts from the surrounding region including traditional clothing, basketry, weapons and even replica huts. The museum also has a large number of photographs from the area dating back 90 years.

Getting There & Away

Bontoc is located approximately 2 hours’ drive from the city of Baguio, which has an airport with daily flights connecting to Manila. Flights from Manila to Baguio take around 45 minutes. There are bus services making the journey from Baguio to Bontoc and the road is incredible with breathtaking scenery through the mountains.
