Located on the western side of Bukit Peninsula, in southern Bali, is the popular area of Bingin. Many travelers and holidaymakers come here to get away from the fast-paced life found in nearby Kuta Beach. Here it is a much more relaxed way of life with a scattering of warungs, small cozy and cheap restaurants, mixed in with local homes and useful but limited businesses.
It is quite a trek to get here so the place is not overwhelmed with hordes of tourists all vying for the best spot on the beach. It does attract a multitude of surfer types because of its excellent location that carries some killer waves. The locals say it is fine to swim here as long as it is done on the left side of the shore at high tide but many choose not to take the risk.
Getting back to the main road involves a hike across uneven walkways where visitors can then head to the slightly more populated areas of Dreamland and Impossibles; two other popular surf beaches nearby. The relaxed feeling of this small beach area is a major part of its tourist draw and old hippies and young surfers frequent this beach.
Getting There
Bingin Beach is less than 15 miles away from Kuta by road and can easily be reached via private hire car or motorbike with a journey time of around 30 minutes. There is public transport available to visitors but it is not the most reliable so a taxi would be the best option for getting to this beach
