The Banteay Srei Butterfly Centre (BBC) is the largest butterfly exhibit in Southeast Asia, located near the famous Banteay Srei Temple in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.
The center is a community-based initiative, combining environmental conservation with sustainable development by employing local villagers and promoting butterfly farming. The Banteay Srei Butterfly Centre aims to provide an alternative source of income to people from rural communities in Siem Reap. Admission fees pay the wages of local farmers who breed their butterflies. The largest netted butterfly enclosure in South East Asia set amidst beautiful tropical gardens.
Upon arrival, visitors enter a large netted garden filled with lush vegetation, vibrant flowers, and thousands of colorful butterflies fluttering freely. The peaceful environment and diverse butterfly species make for a relaxing and immersive experience. The exhibit features butterflies at different stages of their life cycle, allowing visitors to witness the incredible transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.
