Commonly known as Old Town, Ban Si Raya is located on the east side of Koh Lanta Yai. The village is more than a century old and an interesting place to explore.

Visitors may have trouble dragging themselves away from one of the island’s picturesque beaches long enough to explore Ban Si Raya. However, the effort is rewarded with the sight of pretty Chinese style wooden houses and views over the water to the distant shores of Krabi and the tiny islands in between.

There are plenty of shops in Ban Si Raya specializing in local arts and crafts and this is a good place to pick up a souvenir or two. Pause for lunch on the waterfront before heading back to the beach.
