The Angkor Borei Museum is a tiny pair of rooms in an old house in the quaint Angkor Borei town.

Despite its remote location and unpolished presentation, the museum houses some of the oldest and finest artistic treasures in Cambodia, mostly from the pre-Angkor Funan era. The style of art from this era is named for Phnom Da, where several important temples were located.

While difficult to get to, unless combined with a visit to Phnom Da, both Angkor Borei and the museum are worth checking out if you are into ancient stone inscriptions featuring the earliest known use of the Khmer language and some fine early Cambodian statuary.

The typical way to get there is by boat after a visit to the nearby Phnom Da.
