Samut Sakhon Province Travel Guide

Situated where the Tha Chin Klong river meets the Gulf of Thailand, this very small central province shares its provincial border with Bangkok, which is located to the north. The province is generally industrial and agricultural, but there are some historic sites worthy of a visit.

Built during the Ayutthaya period and registered as a National Ancient Monument, Wat Yai Chom Prasat temple is one of the province’s most interesting historical sites. Also of interest is Wat Bang Pla, a unique Mon temple that serves the province’s minority Mon population.
