Hammamet Travel Guide

Most people don’t think of the northern coast of Africa as a sun and fun beach destination; and be grateful they don’t, because relatively under visited gems like Tunisia’s Hammamet are hard to find.

Known as the ‘Garden Resort’, this lush strip of Mediterranean coastline has been a popular spot since the 1960s, those most people have never heard of it. The unique mixture of North African and European culture creates one of the most inviting seaside environments around. You won’t find much seclusion in town, however. A lively nightlife scene will keep you up as late as you like, while days can be filled with golf, shopping at the souk or indulging at one of the local vineyards. Tunisia may feel like the middle of nowhere, but Hammamet serves up the goods in surprising quantity.
