Bedugul Travel Guide
Both a small town and a mountain-lake resort area, Bedugul is located in North Central Bali at 3,773 feet above sea level. The area comprises three crater lakes (Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan) as well as Candikuning, a major town, and has long been a popular weekend retreat for the Balinese.
One of the most frequented attractions is the water temple of Ulun Danu, which is set on Lake Bratan and seems to drift on the water making it a rather unique sight. Another delightful place is Bedugul Botanical Garden, which features a wide variety of trees and plants.
Here you will also find the Bali Treetop Adventure Park boasting six main circuits with nets, bridges, Tarzan jumps and ‘Flying Fox’ zip-lines of up to 525 feet, while two circuits are designed for kids from four years old. Grown-ups will take pleasure in the Bali Handara Kosaido Golf and Country Club, which is enclosed by crater lakes and wooded mountains and is regarded as one of the world’s greatest golf courses.
Further activities in Bedugul include parasailing, jet-skiing and banana-boat riding on the lakes, trekking in the mountains, and relaxing at Angseri hot springs. Don’t miss a visit to the traditional market in Candikuning; Bedugul is known as the ‘Garden of Bali’ and produces a large number of fruits and vegetables which can be purchased here.
